WHO WE ARE
Lana and Colin, with brother Myles built and have owned the Black Bear Chalet since 1990. Avid skiers, they fell in love with the snow conditions and terrain offered at the Fernie Alpine Resort.
Our family is originally from Saskatchewan but have now settled to other areas.
Colin and Lana live in San Diego, CA. Colin is a General Manager of several golf courses in the Southern California area. Lana is a Chartered Accountant, and currently has here own consulting company, Rad On Point Consulting LLC, in San Diego.
Myles and wife Phyllis live in Vaseaux Lake, BC. Myles is a retired teacher, and Phyllis is a retired safety advisor.
Nestled in the Kootenay range of the Rocky Mountains, the Fernie, British Columbia area is a fantastic area to visit all year around.
In the winter, activities include: downhill and cross county skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, heli skiing, or just sitting by the cozy fireplace at Black Bear Chalet.
In the spring, summer and fall, activities include: golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, white water rafting, enjoying several nearby lakes and beaches, or enjoying a glass of wine on the spacious deck at the Black Bear Chalet.
